For Starters…
Hi and welcome to our adventure blog! Our names are Caleb Harff and Myles Schwartz, a couple from the Midwest that is passionate about camping, travel, and health. We started this blog because we are about to embark on our first of many BIG adventures: living in Golfito, Costa Rica for 3 months. This platform will be used to document stories from Central America, as well as future travels, backpacking trips, hikes, and more!
Myles was born in Missouri, grew up in Kansas, and went to college in Minnesota, where she studied English Studies and Spanish (and met Caleb). She has road tripped and camped around the U.S. with her family since she was old enough to hold a canoe paddle. In between the camp outs, she also had the opportunity to travel to 6 different countries. In 2018, Myles studied Spanish and scuba diving in Quepos, Costa Rica, where she fell in love with the underwater world and the “Pura Vida” way of life. Myles will be studying to be a PADI Scuba Instructor while in Golfito, C.R. this summer (which means most posts will probably be coming from Caleb). Overall, Myles loves to write, read, scuba, exercise, and be outside!
Caleb was born and raised in Minnesota and also went to college at the University of MN, where he studied Biomedical Engineering. He has been going to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern MN since he was 5, and has a love of camping and canoeing. He has been on trips to Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Austria, and Germany; he also lived in the Czech Republic (now Czechia) for 9 months while in middle school. Caleb has been surfing exactly one time, and hopes to do more of it this summer.
